BPN Product Review

The Supplement Train

I am excited to share my independent experience with Bare Performance Nutrition products: Strong Greens, Strong Reds, and samples of their popular, In Flight and Flight products.

So many of us get on the “supplement train” and so many of us jump off, never to return. I have been looking for an affordable but effective supplement for about 5 years. Something to help support my workouts and running and add in some essential nutrients, vitamins, I feel I am missing from my diet.

I have journeyed my way through vitamins, weight loss adventures, Adkins, Nutri-system, NuFit System and Metabolife, to name a few. Thankfully, I didn’t take Metabolife very long because it contained ephedra, which the FDA banned in 2004. I even tried a couple of green powders years ago but they didn’t last long.

While scrolling on Instagram one afternoon, I came across an account @nickbarefitness. I was online looking for running inspiration and this guy is, if nothing else, an inspiration. He runs a lot of miles, and is built like a Greek Adonis with that “Made In America” flare. He keeps it simple while sharing his training along with some eye catching photos and video.

I followed Nick’s account for about 6 months before I realized he is not only a veteran, but he is the founder and CEO of BPN, Bare Performance Nutrition. I kept following him and then started following BPN, reading the information on their site and Googling a supplement review. For more information visit: https://www.bareperformancenutrition.com/

I spoke to a former client of mine and mentioned BPN, suggesting he take a look. He liked what he saw and purchased some of the products. A couple months after, he said, “I love them.” At that point, I figured I had to stop stalking Nick and BPN, and purchase some supplements. I ordered straight from BPN because it was a little cheaper and chose their Strong Greens and Strong Reds.

I dug up my old shaker bottle and opened the box with anticipation. The packaging is simple, bright and brilliant. The first scoop hit the water, a small cascade of green powder floated onto my glass desk. I shook it up with really cold water (Though I prefer room temperature) and drank it down, probably too fast. I felt like a tree receiving a good soak from a spring rain. There is a mild zest of refreshing lemon and it goes down easily. I love the taste.

I then tried the Reds. This comes with a much smaller scoop. It smelled very fruity, but, unlike some fruit powders, it has a great scent in the packaging and once in the shaker bottle. I had a similar experience with the Reds as I did with the Greens. It was very refreshing and the taste is just perfect. I don’t taste chemicals but feel as if I am drinking some good vitamins and minerals from naturally occurring sources.

I feel I should mention that I like to do utilize the benefits of intermittent fasting. Historically, I over-eat, so fasting helps me be more mindful of the volume I am eating in a day. Recently, I fasted for 20 hours to prepare for a 24 hour fast. All I had was the greens and reds. I felt normal and wasn’t starving. (Read up on the science based benefits. The list is long but do your own research and if you have restrictive eating issues, please consult a nutritionist first.)

A few weeks prior to writing this blog post, I went on a fasted run with a friend, after only drinking the greens and reds. I didn’t feel the lag I had been feeling on the numerous runs prior to that morning. I did start to cramp at the end because we pushed my pace, but I was very pleased with my overall performance. I didn’t feel as if I was struggling.

When I ordered my second round of supplements, I received samples of their pre-workout, Flight and In Flight, part of their ‘Performance Stack’. I decided to take these for a spin during a class at my local gym. Typically I am the last person to finish when we do running metcons, because it takes my lungs a bit to open up. I was the first person finished out of 14 people when using part of the Flight sample. And I felt that drive I remembered from long ago. I was not planning to buy additional items, but now I am considering these as well. (PLEASE CONSULT YOUR PHYSICIAN BEFORE TAKING A PRE-WORKOUT SUPPLEMENT.)

I am nearing the end of my second bottles and now start each day with it. Through the ups and downs of my wellness journey, I’d sometimes stop taking supplements because my stomach felt upset. I have had zero issues with these supplements. I’ve read the digestive enzymes can affect some people, so maybe try one type of powder at a time or take one at night, as I read some customers do.

At the time of this posting, I can’t say I have experienced anything negative about these products. I will say, you can find less expensive greens on the market but if you order straight from BPN, subscribe if you like, to help lower the cost. I think it is moderately priced compared to other brands, though it may contain fewer ingredients than more expensive brands.

When I ordered directly from BPN, I also realized I couldn’t leave delivery instructions. Since Covid, our area has been targeted by Porch Pirates. I emailed BPN and had a nice exchange with an associate. He had Fed Ex deliver as “they are our most reliable carrier”. I received a notification immediately upon delivery via the Shop App, which keeps track of all of your shipments, even from Amazon.

If you are an athlete or just interested in a simple and tasty way to supplement your diet, I highly recommend the Strong Greens and Strong Reds. BPN products are Certified Drug Free® by the Banned Substance Control Group for substances on the WADA prohibited list. I love these supplements and hope to be a customer for a long time. As their motto says, “Go One More!”

I intend to.
